Cleanliness & Hygiene Rules

Allure Beauty Lounge

1. General Salon Cleanliness

  • The salon must be cleaned thoroughly at the beginning and end of each day, and high-touch areas disinfected between clients.
  • Floors should be vacuumed or mopped daily.
  • All bins must be lined with disposable bags and emptied regularly.
  • Toilets and handwashing stations must be cleaned and restocked with soap, hand towels, and sanitiser throughout the day.

2. Hand Hygiene

Staff must wash or sanitise hands:

  • Before and after each treatment
  • After handling waste or cleaning materials
  • After using the restroom
  • Clients should be offered hand sanitiser upon entering the salon.

3. Tool and Equipment Sterilisation

  • All reusable tools (e.g., nail clippers, cuticle pushers) must be cleaned and sterilised between clients using a medically approved method (e.g., autoclave or barbicide).
  • Disposable items (e.g., nail files, buffer blocks, waxing sticks) must be used once per client and then discarded.
  • All facial and body sculpting tools and machines must be disinfected thoroughly between treatments.

4. Treatment-Specific Cleanliness Rules

Manicure & Pedicure

  • Bowls, foot spas, and basins must be disinfected after each use.
  • Fresh towels or disposable liners must be used for every client.
  • Nail dust and debris must be wiped from work surfaces between clients.

Facials & Body Sculpting Treatments

  • Beds must be covered with disposable couch roll for each client.
  • All facial tools and machines must be cleaned using appropriate disinfectants between treatments (Clinell wipes).
  • Therapists must wear gloves and aprons where appropriate, especially for extractions or machine-based treatments.

Massage

  • Towels must be laundered after each use at 60°C or higher.
  • Oils, lotions, and balms must be dispensed using clean spatulas or pump bottles to avoid contamination.

Hair Blow Dries

  • Hairbrushes, combs, and clips must be cleaned and sanitised between each client.
  • Hair dryers and other electrical tools should be wiped down daily.

5. Staff Cleanliness

  • All staff must arrive in clean uniforms and maintain high levels of personal hygiene.
  • Long hair must be tied back neatly during face and body treatments.
  • Gloves and apron must be worn where treatments require direct skin contact and disposed of after use.

6. Laundry and Linen Handling

  • Used towels must be stored in a separate, labelled laundry container.
  • Fresh linens must be stored in a clean, dry cabinet or drawer, separate from used ones.

7. Client and Treatment Areas

  • All surfaces (e.g., beds, trolleys, countertops) must be wiped with disinfectant between clients.
  • Ensure the waiting area is tidy, and reading materials are limited or sanitised.
  • Maintain a clean and pleasant scent in the salon without overpowering sprays.

8. Waste Disposal

  • Sharps and contaminated waste must be disposed of in designated containers.
  • General waste must be removed from treatment rooms daily.
  • All waste disposal procedures must comply with local environmental health regulations.

9. Illness Policy

  • Staff exhibiting symptoms of illness (e.g., flu, skin infections, contagious diseases) must not perform treatments.
  • Clients showing visible signs of infection may be asked to reschedule in the interest of hygiene and safety.

Compliance with these cleanliness rules is mandatory for all team members. Failure to follow these protocols may result in disciplinary action. These rules help protect the health, comfort, and confidence of our valued clients and uphold the professional standards of Allure Beauty Lounge.
